An Evening with Wendy Davis

In 2013, Wendy Davis was largely unknown outside of Texas, where she was a Democratic State Senator representing the Fort Worth area. On June 25 of that year, she stood for 11 hours filibustering a very egregious anti-choice bill on the floor of the Texas Senate. She would later run for Governor of Texas in 2014 (and lost, receiving only 39% of the vote). This past Thursday - nearly two years after that historic filibuster - the now former Senator was in Kansas City to address the Greater Kansas City Women's Political Caucus. I was fortunate enough to be invited to record the forum, and got the chance to meet Ms. Davis, who came across as a very nice person. The video was also posted on the Daily Kos website.
