"Bill thinks he has his own police."

"Mike from Orlando" was made for the 2006 IFC One Night Stand competition.

For those unfamiliar with the One Night Stand, you're given ten hours to make a short film containing a theme, item and line of dialogue that are drawn at the beginning of the ten hour time period.

This particular year, the theme was exile, the item was a love letter, and the line was "I coulda been somebody. I coulda been a contender." (from "On the Waterfront")

This film was based on an infamous incident where the titular Mike from Orlando (played in this film by Tom Brittendall) calls into Bill O'Reilly's radio show and dared to mention Keith Olbermann's name. O'Reilly cut Mike off, declares him a "gone guy," and threatens to send Fox Security after Mike. In this film, Fox Security does come (in the form of Ben Wenger) and promptly beats Mike to death - with a loofah (a clear reference to when O'Reilly was sued for sexual harassment by a former producer).
